Attendant Care

A variety of levels and types of support are available to our clients.

What is Attendant Care?

A service that provides a qualified individual to supply needed services so that an individual can remain at home and/or participate in work/community activities.

What We Provide

In-Home Support
 

Assistance with daily living activities to maintain safe and sanitary living conditions.

Meal Preparation
 

Help with meal planning, food preparation, cooking, and cleanup to ensure proper nutrition.

Flexible Scheduling

Support available when needed to help with personal care, mobility, and community participation.

Service Requirements and Limitations

The service may be provided in the following circumstances:

In the consumer's home.

2

When there is a specific issue, problem, or concern that is thought to be temporary or short-term and approved by DDD in a direct state-contracted developmental home (where the licensee contracts directly with DDD).

While accompanying the consumer or shopping/picking up medications in the consumer's community.

Goals of Service

1

To assist the consumer in attaining or maintaining safe and sanitary living conditions, as well as personal cleanliness and daily living activities.

Assisting the consumer in remaining at home and/or participating in community activities.

The following goals must be met by NestVillage LLC:

Based on the DDD's assessment, implement the consumer's planning document, which may include, but is not limited to:

Meal preparation and cleanup (for example, meal planning, food preparation, cooking, storing food, and dishwashing)

.

Eating and eating assistance (e.g., prompts to eat slowly, proper positioning while eating, choking monitoring)

.

Bathing (e.g., getting into the tub or shower, adjusting the water temperature for safety, monitoring for drowning risk, and using assistive devices)

.

Grooming and dressing (for example, oral hygiene, nail care, shaving, hair styling, and putting on assistive devices)

.

Toileting (for example, bowel and bladder care)

.

Mobility

.

Transferring

.

Cleaning and housekeeping/homemaker

.

Laundry

.

Shopping

.

Supervision, which may include behavioral intervention techniques or other skills identified on the consumer's planning document

.

Assisting the consumer in sticking to his or her routine as determined by the priorities on the consumer's planning document

.

Assisting in the proper treatment of injury and illness

.

Maintaining skin integrity, including first aid (e.g., pressure sore prevention)

.

All customers who exhibit additional medical or social problems during service delivery are referred for appropriate action

.

Assisting with medication administration or providing medication reminders

.

Assisting the consumer in achieving or maintaining safe and sanitary living conditions as specified in the consumer's planning document

The following tasks may be performed in unusual circumstances:

Heavy cleanings, such as washing walls or ceilings, and yard work, such as raking leaves and hauling debris.

To help the consumer obtain and/or care for basic material needs such as water, heating, and food.
